Once we have examined your mouth and jawbone thoroughly – using x-rays and occasionally CT scans – we will be able to ascertain whether you are a suitable candidate for dental implants. If you are, a titanium screw will be embedded into your jawbone. This is to act as the new ‘root’ for your prosthetic tooth or teeth. Once the site of the screw has healed (which can take a few months), the dentist will attach a false tooth or teeth to the screw.
Implants are durable and proven to last for a number of years.
