Dentistry Done Differently

St Mawes Dental offers patients two different fee structures.

As of 1st April 2026, St Mawes Dental is not accepting new patients.

If you are experiencing dental pain, please get in touch with us by phone or email. We may be able to offer a one-off private appointment, depending on cancellations and availability.

These appointments are prioritised for our existing patients, and only then can we offer them to non-registered patients.

Denplan

We have introduced a dental membership plan to reward and look after our patients who visit the practice regularly. Just look at what you can gain from becoming a member!

Private Fees

These fees are reviewed regularly and may change without notice. Please note that if you have not had a full dental examination in the last 2 years, you will require a New Patient Examination and Bitewing Radiograph (subject to reacceptance)

Deposits

When we book an appointment for you, we commit that time and our resources to your treatment. This means that, if anyone else wants to come at the same time, we will be unable to see them and will have to offer them an alternative time. DEPOSIT When booking your appointment, we will normally seek a deposit from you, payment of which is your confirmation of your commitment to attend your appointment. Our deposits are normally fully refundable providing sufficient notice of cancellation is given  and is set at the following levels: New Patients/Emergencies £50 and other appointments of one hour (60 minutes) or more: 50% of quoted treatment

NO SHOW AND LATE CANCELLATION

Missed appointments and late cancellations (with less than 24 hours notice) are chargeable at £25 per 15 minute appointment slot. This charge will be debited to your account with us; if you have not paid a deposit, settlement of this charge will be required before treatment can continue. Our policy is that all fines and outstanding balances must be addressed within 14 calendar days, after which we will process with legal action or refer to a debt collection agency. However, we prioritise direct resolution and flexible solutions wherever possible.

Reducing our impact on the environment

At St Mawes Dental, we believe we can work together to preserve the resources of the planet, use products and materials which respect the environment and contribute to environmental protection above and beyond our operation.

TOXIN REDUCTION

We aim to be an ‘amalgam-free’ practice and are committed to lower the environmental impact from the use of industrial mercury, which is a constituent of dental amalgam fillings.

SAFE USE & DISPOSAL OF CHEMICALS

We have special equipment such as safe filters in our suction and waste pipes to minimise our patient’s exposure to mercury when old dental metal fillings have to be taken out.

ENERGY CONSERVATION

In every area of our practice we have embraced the latest technology and installed the latest heating, insulation and energy recycling processes to significantly lower the energy consumption of the practice.
